Market Staff

Kim Viljac, Market Manager

Kim has served as Market Manager since the fall of 2010. She has called the Lowcountry home for almost 20 years. Kim is originally from South Florida and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida. She lives in Bluffton with her husband Thomas and their two sons, Mac and Ben. She enjoys sharing her passion of healthy living and community spirit with others. When she is not fostering relationships with local farmers, businesses, and other non-profit organizations, Kim can be found on the water enjoying the lowcountry’s beautiful rivers, beaches, marshes, and sandbars with family and friends.

Abby Wirth, Market Assistant

Abby has been a fan of the Lowcountry since vacationing here with her family as a child, and has always had an interest in sustainable living.  She attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where she majored in Spanish with minors in Sustainable Development, Latin American Studies and Anthropology.  Throughout her university experience, Abby traveled frequently to learn about the different facets of sustainability, including organic farming in Hawaii, educational outreach with Americorps and cultural studies in Spain.  Abby is currently involved in the efforts of the Farmers Market of Bluffton as the Market Assistant, where she enjoys spreading the word about nutrition and organic eating.  Abby is also the Program Manager of Experience Green, a sustainable non-profit on Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, SC.  She believes whole heartedly in the value of “local economy”, and since 2005 she has been the owner of Tail-Waggers, a dog shop and bakery featuring items for your dog and cat.  The shop carries high-quality, good for the earth and your pet products; it has become the island “go to” spot for learning about dog nutrition and health.  Abby is also active in community organizations such as the Hilton Head Humane Association and lives on the island with her two children, both of whom attend a Mandarin speaking school.  She is active in their schools and started a composting project in their preschool.  Abby enjoys kayaking, yoga and traveling with her kids.
